Some of you see me type with the following symbols at the end of a sentence.

<3 <333 8V D: D8 8D 8B LoL

They are the secret code of the Illuminati! 8V  No, not really, they're emoticons and emotes that I've picked up from all over the damn place.  The faces are called smilies/emoticons.  They're little faces to depict a mood since it's so hard to tell when people are serious or silly on the intarwebz.

"LoL", "lol", "LAWL" = laugh out loud, "lawl" meaning saying the abbreviation as if it were a word
LMAO, LMFAO, ROTFLMAO/ROFL/ROFLMAO = laughing my ass off, laughing my fucking ass off, rolling on the floor laughing my ass off, some people make it "clean" or cutsie with LMBO: laughing my butt off

<3 and <333 = Love and MUCH LOVE
8V and 8U = Chicken/Duck face; I use it to show that I'm being facetious or sarcastic.
D: and D8 = Unhappy and shocked or upset. "8" usually denotes eyes bugging out.
:D and 8D = Happy and really happy.
8B = wide eyed and bucktoothed, being silly/stupid.

And the Japanese emotes are totaled by the hundreds.  I won't go into detail about all of them, but here are some basic ones.

ono = two "o" eyes and an "n" for an unhappy mouth, sad with pouting mouth.
ovo = happy "v" mouth
ouo = happy "u" mouth
-_-; = the "-" denotes closed eyes, and the lower "_" denotes a serious line mouth. ";" is a drop of sweat, meaning defeat.
@_@, @n@, @o@ = dizzy "@" eyes and various mouth expressions.
¬_¬ = a sidelong stare, used for things like a conspiratory glance, an angry glare, sarcasm.

One of my favorites is the flipping the tea table emote.  It just means being really angry or frustrated to the point where you overturn everything on the table, disturbing things that were at peace.  General chaos.  It comes in all sorts of flavors.

OMG, YAY!!

I DID get one of my Christmas wishes, after all!  Skyrim got some Christmas mods!  Once I figure out how to install them, I'll do it. 8V  I want my orc female in a Santa suit.

Christmas in Games

Christmas this year has been slow, cliche, and disappointing in my games this year.  Probably because in Guild Wars, they've recycled the same quests for the past five or six years.  In RO, they're only promoting packages for real money so far and not an Antonio or present snatching Goblin in sight as of yet.  Maybe for today's maintenance...

Skyrim is ALWAYS snowy, so... what I'd really like is someone to make some Santa Suit mods so I can smash bandits in style.  It's already red, so, not that much cleaning involved.  Though, I suspect a Father Christmas set would probably count as Light Armor.  Come to think of it, seeing someone with one of the named masks on and a green or red Father Christmas suit on would either be really funny or really badass.  A holly wreath hat instead of a circlet would RAWK!  I wish I knew how to model and build mods, but alas... I do not.  SO SOMEONE MAKE IT FOR ME! <3333

There ARE, at least, new costumes in Guild Wars.  This year it's costumes for Kormir, the goddess of Secrets and Lyssa, the Mesmer goddess of messing with your head.  Lyssa's costume looks very much like Janus with faces looking towards the past, present, and future with the purple color that's prominent in Mesmer skill sets and armor.  Kormir's costume marries the armor of both the Dervish (scythe wielders) and the Sunspear (spear wielders) in chains and snowy white.

MLP Chibis!

I've made some chibi ponies for adoption at the MLP Arena.  They're free for all members!  So if you're an MLP fan or just like fantasy colored ponies, in general, come on over and be sure to introduce yourself before posting anything else. <3

I made a few Dotee Dolls

I made some Dotee Dolls to sell on Etsy.  But now I'm losing my nerve to even post them up for sale.  Most of the items listed are so super professional that my self confidence goes right down the toilet.  From cast resin dolls to super pretty embroidered owls... I can't compete with that.  I'm too poor to buy materials, for a start. ;o;  I've always wanted to learn to crochet properly or cast resin from my own sculpts, but all that takes time and money.

Oh, well, all I can do is try. XDD

I'll soon have something worthy of posting up.  I've been either too neurotic or too lazy to post anything fun.  In the meantime, you can BAAAW! along at this little stunt Paypal pulled on Regretsy.

Here are some basic gaming definitions, if you're not used to talking this way or playing games.  This comic explains an adult's experience far better than I can when it comes to online games.


Noob/nub/newb/n00b = "Newbie", sometimes derogatory, meaning you're not playing up to someone else's standards or that you don't know how everything works well enough.

LFG = Looking for group or guild.
PVP = Player vs. Player.
GR = Guild recruiting.
PVE/PVM = player vs. everything, player vs. monster.

WTB/WTS = Want to Buy, Want to Sell.  The trading of items in games from one player to another.

AI = Artificial intelligence.  Monsters and NPC's and mercenary/hero type creatures have varying types.
NPC = Non-playing character.  Typically a character who isn't played by a real person that aids (or is a big pain in the rear) in a mission or side quest.
Aggro = Aggressive creatures who will attack when your character(s) come within sight.

Skyrim Related Terms
"Skyrim" is a game put out by Bethesda, one of the latest in the "Elder Scrolls" line of games where you essentially play an angry little dude/chick from out of town who gets caught up in the affairs of the local townsfolk and inevitably receive dragons chewing on your face as often as possible.


Fus(h) Ro Dah - The "Unrelenting Force" skill that uses the power of your voice to knock back and damage an enemy.  The stronger it is, the more crap you scatter all over the place.
Dovahkiin - It means "Dragonborn".
 

Take the Random Color Art Challenge

I've started a Random Color Art Challenge at the MLP Arena or you can play with it on your own!  Here's how to play!

Step One
Go to Swatch Spot and use the FIRST random color set you get once you're there. No cheating!

Step Two
Save that palette and post it along with the design you came up with using it. You must use ALL the colors it gives you, so you can implement some colors as part of the symbol/cutie mark. It's okay to add to each color white or black for shading and highlights.

Step Three
Make it more fun! Make up a name or use a random generator to make a pony name and make up a backcard description!

Here's a sample of what I've been getting and what I've made with what it gave me.

Name: Bee Sweet
Description: Bee Sweet enjoys sunlit meadows, fields of flowers, and of course, honey bees! Bee Sweet enjoys watching things grow and gifts her friends with lots of jars of honey.

MLP Adventures: Rainbow Rust

So I've been restoring My Little Pony (Gen 1's, mainly) for fun and profit.  So now I'll tell you the story of poor Rain Curl.

Rain Curl came from a lot of mixed ponies I bought cheaply (around $14, that's not bad) and the first thing you do when you get a lot of ponies is you assess what needs to be done with them first.  I'm of the sort who will (unless it's in mint condition) pop off the head and take a look inside, especially if I hear any ominous rattling inside the body.  That's almost always a sure sign of something that's broken loose or rusted off.

Hasbro seemed really keen on putting metal washers inside the vinyl of these original ponies.  So to avoid future tail rust, most will opt for removing the old washer.  I'm not entirely sure what the washer is made out of, but if I were to guess I'd say aluminum.  At best, the washer is intact and easy to remove once the tangles have been smoothed out and the tail removed from the inside and out through the neck.  At worst... you get poor Rain Curl's dilemma.

Someone on the MLP Arena suggested I change her name to "Rainbow Rust".  The idea is certainly tempting, poor creature. ;o;  So when I finally got it all separated, I saw that the insides were completely coated with rest, nasty rust!  There wasn't a single inch of her insides that wasn't coated like the landscape of Mars.

So now I'm really contemplating buying some Rit Rust Remover for retackling her insides and the roots of her hair plugs.  The inside of her head and the top of her head was just as riddled with rust and stains as her lower body!  So I bought a few inexpensive tooth brushes at the dollar store and scrubbed for what seemed like an eternity over and over again and thankfully the brush was narrow enough to get down to the bottoms of her legs and the inner corner of her muzzle.

So after a lot of work and replacing the inner washer with clear plastic zip ties, she's looking much better now.  I've touched up her symbols (cutie marks) with some acrylic and clear sealer.  She'll never be back to mint condition, so I may just keep her for myself to look after all the other little abused ponies I rescue.

I don't feel much older.  It's going to be a pain remembering how old I am when I fill out forms again this year.  Sometimes I still put down 2010 and then next year I'll probably be putting down 2011.

Still, I got Skyrim for my birthday.  Ain't gonna bitch too hard.
